This is what appears in the log on 10.4.10:

unmount, disk = /dev/ê (status code 0xF8DA0003).

On 10.5:

09:18:53 loginwindow [28]:18179 -> diskarbitrationd [36]
09:18:53 unable to queue solicitation, id =
0000000000491761:0000000000598960, kind = disk unmount, disk = /dev/
(status code 0xF8DA0003).
09:18:54


0xF8DA0003 works out to be kDAReturnBadArgument. It looks to me like "disk =
/dev/" should be "disk = /dev/ disk1s0".
