Check out the "MAP" option.
Most problems like this are caused by folks starting their program in
the wrong bootstrap namespace. TN2083 describes this whole process
in gory detail. Specifically, check out the "Mach Bootstrap Basics",
"Starting a Daemon", and "Bootstrap Namespaces: One More Thing"
sections.
