You can run LEAP from any system. Borrow a Windows box. LEAP only
cares about your network account and your ID cert, not the machine
you're coming from.
Before I install Leopard on my Mac let me ask. Before I created the
new
user, I saw three certs to choose from, on the new user, only two.
That
makes me think it is selecting one. I am also able to pick the other
two
when prompted but they do not work. Is it not safe to assume that
since
selecting any of the certs manually don't work, am identity
preference will
not work either since it is just selecting one of those certs
automatically?
CACs carry three certs but only two have key usage settings that allow
them to be used for authentication--the ID cert and the email signing
cert--so these are the ones presented to you. The third cert is for
encryption.
I'm not trying to be argumentative, I just want to make sure I have
to go
the Leopard route since I know some of the other things I need will
break
(like classic).
You shouldn't have to install Leopard if the LEAP option works, or can
get the id pref tool for Tiger, or go with Thursby's package. All
Leopard did in this regard was add the ability to set id prefs in
Keychain Access without a separate tool.
