Regarding mp3 on web pages, I have a user who when they click on a
link to an mp3 file in Safari nothing useful happens--it used to open
in QuickTime I think they said.
I had the user ctrl-click on choose open in iTunes (they have a one-
button mouse).
I don't normally deal with mp3 files in Safari.
ps. it's a bird song web site at some university I believe.

I just found that if you have applied the latest QuickTime update,
then when iWeb publishes an mp3 file it converts it to a .mov! This
has royally screwed up my podcast!!!
