Tiger equivalent of "mbuf_attachcluster"?

I have a NKE that has to work on both Tiger and Leopard. Leopard has the handy function "mbuf_attachcluster" for attaching your own pre-allocated cluster (although I dont actually require the "extfree" function though). From what I can see, Tiger unfortunately does not. Is there something I can do to work around this?

If it comes to it, can I access the mbuf struct directly, or is that hidden from me? It looks like the mbuf.h in the 10.4 kernel framework is different to the mbuf.h in the bsd source.

Thanks,
DJ
