my problem is not that an action method is called when reloading - in fact that doesn't happen. I forgot to mention that I'm using 2 frames. The problem is that if I reload, both frames (menuFrame and contentFrame) are reloaded (which is not the case in my application, because I have defined the contentFrame as the target frame in the menu hyperlinks) and when I then click a menu item after this reloading i get a new instance of the corresponding page :-(
But the problem is solved now by caching the pages "by hand"
