We too have seen this stacktrace a few times on WO5.2.2, but never on WO5.2.1.
In the app where we have seen this issue we havn't yet implemented
locking when using a childEC (child of
session.defaultEditingContext). This is bad :) and we do plan to
implement locking here.
Do you use session.defaultEditingContext there you get this exception
or do you lock the ec you use?
