Custom link attachments and IE

Hi,

I generate links to attachments that are streamed to the client but stored in a database. The hyperlink is custom and makes a direct action call to query for the attachment. The direct action generates response by adding content-type and content-disposition to the header and adding a stream for the attachment content. The URLs seem to work for several browsers (Navigator, Mozilla, Safari, Camino, and IE Mac) but not for IE Windows. On the browsers that work the attachment gets downloaded with the correct name and is handled properly. IE for Windows blocks the download and complains that it has an unrecognized type and it displays the filename as just a long string of digits instead of what I assigned in the content-disposition. IE Windows users are complaining to me and some refuse to use Netscape. Does anyone know what I need to do to satisfy IE to recognize the content?

thanks,
-tom
