xcode won't let me add files/web services demo does not work

I'm trying to create a web services to web objects app. For a start, I
want to try out the web services demo given when you install web
objects (XMethodsInspector.pbproj)
The project as given won't compile with xcode and I can't figure out
why.
I have tried importing this project into xcode, but it refuses to do
anything after I select it and choose "choose".
I have tried creating a new project from scratch and copying the files
into it. I then try to add them to the xcode project using the
documentation supplied but it won't let me do that either.
I have run the permissions correction from disk utilities in hopes it
was a solution.
I have 10.3.2 and web objects 5.2 (from apple's web site) with the
latest update installed.
I have XCode 1.1.
Anyone have any idea??
