Are you using the domain name or the IP address of your database machine? If it's running on the same machine, then you should be using "localhost". Are you sure the database on the server has the same connection information? Are they the same version?

I'm also not sure what the ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException is caused by. That looks to be the root of the problem...

Maybe try posting your connection dictionary here (sans password...).
