Heard at WWDC:

Developer: "Will WO become open source?"
Apple Engineer: "WO Will never be open source"

No, from what I was told.

D: "So, will it stay java?"
A: "I don't know"

Yes. It is considered the optimum language choice for a server-based product. No plans to go back to Obj-C.

D: "Will WO Works on solaris?"
A: "I don't know"

Try it. Not supported any more, but not precluded. The license does NOT prohibit such use, and a revised license will clarify this.

The Developer to an other developer, a little bit later:

D: "Hey guy, the apple engineer told me that WO will be open source
soon, support java and works on all platforms compatible with java
mainly solaris, but I'm not sure if WO will be free on MacOSX"

Do you speak Apple?

Future is bright, future is different, future is Apple!

Note that the Developer has hashed the facts, not Apple.
