WebObjects Web Services and WSS4J

Good afternoon folks.
First, has anyone here tried using WSS4J to implement a security mechanism for Web Services in WO? I'm expecially interested in how people are handling login with a WSS UserNameToken on the server side.

Second, I believe WSS4J requires Axis 1.2, but WO 5.3 ships with Axis 1.1. I am about to try upgrading Axis, but if anyone knows of any caveats I would love to hear of them (I remember there were problems with WO 5.2 and versions of Axis greater than 1.0).

Third: Are WO Web Services a waste of time? Should I be going for directly using Axis instead?

Cheers,
- Hugi
