I read a suggestion that if i change the owner of the following 2
files to System, javamonitor will run as root:
Why would you want this? The whole reason they changed to appserver
is so that it would NOT run as root. There is no reason for
JavaMonitor and wotaskd to run as root. You're just opening up
yourself to attacks. A better solution is to make sure all the
correct permissions (for appserver) are set on any resources you need
to access.

Is there anyway to control what user JavaMonitor runs as?
On 10.3 and 10.4 it runs as appserver.
I read a suggestion that if i change the owner of the following 2
files to System, javamonitor will run as root:
/System/Library/WebObjects/JavaApplications/wotaskd.woa/wotaskd
and
System/Library/WebObjects/JavaApplications/wotaskd.woa/Contents/
Resources/javawoservice.sh
This is for 10.3, not 10.4
I did, and it worked, but now i cannot seem to change it back.
I would like to change it back to any user but root.
Does anyone know how to manipulate what user javamonitor runs as?
Also, on 10.4, can javamonitor run as anything but appserver?
