you can programmatically set the password in your Application.java calling
statisticsStore().setPassword( "myObscurePassword" );
then call
http://yourservername/cgi-bin/WebObjects/yourappname.woa/wa/WOStats
and enter "myObscurePassword" if asked for the password.
this should work in any case.
