Hello Alex;

The whole WO WebServices/Direct2WebServices implementation needs to be rethought from the ground up and reimplemented

I feel the doco is largely useless, some things in the architecture are quite good, but other things seem messy. I also agree that it is somewhat disappointing that despite stating on their website "The easiest way to build powerful web services." as a slogan for WO, it is actually non-trivial to get the desktop infrastructure to talk to the application server infrastructure in a useful manner out of the box. It would be nice to get some idea on what is going to happen in this larger web services area, even if it's just going to carry on 'as is' for the foreseeable future. This information would allow one to judge if other alternative RPC approaches are going to be worth pursuing for the long haul. I know such information isn't going to be forthcoming though of course. It would ruin the surprise.

I have also assembled some 'beta quality' supporting doco/code for development of Cocoa<--WS-->WO and if anybody is interested I can
...
I'd be glad to take a look at what you've got.

I'll flick you the details off-list in a moment.

cheers.
