I think you be delighted with the saving of effort obtained by switching from SOAP to JSON. I'm using Andrew's framework. I have been able to remove huge blocks of ugly hand-parsing code from a dashboard widget and replace them with just a few lines to pull the objects I want out of the JSON-formatted xmlhttp.responseText returned from the WO app.
