I know that Apple had decided last year to deprecate/stop development of Web Objects.
Not correct .. They deprecated Apple's tools development, not WO framework development.

Has there been any change in the status of Web Objects support?
Can't answer this one.

When will it quit being distributed as part of XCode?
It's unclear what the distribution package for WO will be in future releases given that tools support is mostly deprecated. It's certainly possible it will remain a part of the Xcode install.

Has/or will Apple give the source code of WebObjects to the community so it can continue to be developed?
No/no, because Apple is still developing WO.

If so, I would like to volunteer to assist with development of WebObjects.
Project Wonder is the project for you ... It's the closest you're going to get to developing WO in the open source community without the WO source.

I like the apple tools. I know WOLips and project WOnder exist for eclipse but I do not like these tools much.
Writing your own alternative is the only option, unfortunately. Have fun w/ that :)

I have several products that I wish to use WebObjects for, but it is difficult to proceed with these projects using WebObject when it's future is in doubt.
It's future is not in doubt.

I really like WebObjects, it's design makes it the most powerful development package, as well as the Apple design tools allow for fast application design.
To each his own on this one.
