Yes and no. They have their Website integration stuff which are basically http calls to their shopping cart or payment system, but you can also integrate with your own shopping cart to whatever extend.


For US customers it's also possible to use "direct payment" and use PayPal as a payment gateway for credit card payments without the customer leaving your page. If you want to implement more than just cc authorization / payment, the API is HUGE and in parts really ugly. At least the SOAP API is. Their newer API might be better / cleaner. I don't know.
