Lose iTunes and iPhoto sharing? ..... never! :-p
Maybe the delay in XCode was not as noticeable since we had to spend
a *big amount of time* actually building the darn thing before
launching after every little change we made to the java code ..... or
worse yet, build and install a framework after a change to it ....
XCode was a PITA for WebObjects development IMHO ..... I shudder to
think what we would do without workspace projects build path order,
incremental background builder and hot code replace in Eclipse ....
not to mention all these little productivity accelerators:

org.eclipse.jdt.doc.user/tips/jdt_tips.html
Seriously ..... thanks for the bonjour-disabling tip though .... a
good one to know.

Perhaps for the wiki, I found that this solved my problem w/o the need
to change anything in wo/apache/etc:

launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/
com.apple.mDNSResponder.plist
Yes, this disables bonjour. Works for me. You'll lose iTunes sharing,
ichat network browsing, etc, but many will find they'd rather disable
bonjour and be done with it.

I had been looking for this page -- Thanks .. The kicker stuff on
there lied to me and pretended to work a couple times, then stopped
working. Seems to be unreliable so I pulled it off that page.

Setting everything as localhost seems to be the solution for

As I develop in eclipse/wolips and kick off a test run, the browser
pops up and there is a sizeable delay in loading the page, as
well as
subsequent pages when I'm using my laptop. I don't tend to see this
problem on my desktop. I'm guessing there is some dns/name/mobility
bug and I'm seeing a tcp timeout sequence. I haven't been able to
search the list archives for others with the same, so I'm hoping
someone can chime in here and tell me what's the magic word to fix
this.
