A task for the list might be:

* Bring wiki up to date .... eliminate all references to obsolete WOBuilder, EOModeler, etc.
http://wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WO/Home

What might be nice is to structure this WebObjects wiki like a book (with a TOC like the one that Chuck had planned to publish, but didn't)

People asked for a better structured community, we heard you!

After some discussion with members of the community and with Apple, we are happy to announce the formation of a WebObjects Community Steering Committee.

Elections will be held each year around WWDC/WOWODC timeframe. For our first year, members of the committee are volunteers.

The current members of the committee are :

- Janine Sisk
- Alex Cone
- Chuck Hill
- David LeBer
- Pascal Robert

The mission of this committee :

- Present an organizational structure and single point of contact with Apple to influence and support the continued development of WO.

- Support, motivate, and enable WOCommunity activities - give the folks who have been working their buns off on our behalf support wherever we can, but generally stay out of their way.

- Market WO and member services in ways that Apple is not willing and/or capable of doing.

Our tasks :

- Create a new general survey each year

- Help with organizing WOWODC

- Give our support to other groups (Web site, WOWODC, etc.)

- Create podcasts/live demos of apps (similar to the webcasts from MacEnterprise.org)

- Market WO Community events, successes, and newsworthy items (i.e. announcements and press releases to Mac and Java lists and sites)

- Build a searchable registry of consulting services available in the WO world, including "job offered" and "job wanted" posts for people seeking full-time employment

- Create and maintain a new web site to evangelize WebObjects and showcase the tools, the vibrant community, and the platform's successes.

Please note: Our primary goal is one of support. We are not trying to supplant any existing efforts, if you'd like our support, please ask. We will more than happy to help you in any way we can.
