This isn't quite the answer you're looking for, but...
You shouldn't have to copy text from X11 apps. If you're running
quartz-wm,
it will automatically copy the X11 selection to the clipboard. Thus,
you
can copy/paste between X11 apps as you are used to, and it
interoperates
with regular OS X apps as you expect.
that, it (X11.app), has hardly ever done. :-)
I've always had to highlight the text, hit 'copy' from the pull-down
and then the text is copied to the pb buffer.
anyway, for the regular osx apps -> X11 direction, it looks like my
autocutsel wasn't getting launched properly. so starting that up seems
to have put side the problem.
