Hi,
I can't move or resize X11 a document windows, e.g. xterm.
When I start a xterm, the document window has not a title bar.
Why?
What can do it?
It sounds like you don't have a window manager running. Do you have a
file called .xinitrc in your home directory? Apple's X11.app doesn't
do everything it should to set up the environment for .xinitrc, so an
old one is likely to fail. Try renaming it and restarting X11.app.
If that works and you want to keep your old .xinitrc configuration, you
can edit your old .xinitrc. The problems are normally due to the fact
that Apple, in the current beta, doesn't run the login scripts for your
shell before running the .xinitrc. You will ahve to manually set the
PATH, etc. I source the appropriate login scripts.
Another possibility is that your .xinitrc says to run a windows manager
that no longer exists on your system. Did you have X11 installed
before you installed Apple's X11.app? Did you delete directories to
remove the old installation? If so, you may have removed some items
that are in your old .xinitrc.
Apple's window manager is /usr/X11R6/bin/quartz-wm.
randy.
