In an earlier message to me, Haroon said this was because X11 was using the default xinitrc in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc

I removed that file%, and then it behaved as before. Or, of course, you can have

	/usr/X11R6/bin/xterm &
	/usr/X11R6/bin/quartz-wm

in your ~/.xinitrc file :).

Sean.

% Actually, I first renamed it to "XinitRC", and was quite puzzled why it was still using it, until I remembered that, oh, yeah, HFS+ is a case-insensitive-on-access filesystem. I blush. O the embarassment!

Thanks for the hard work.

Something's funny though -- X11.app now drops me into TWM instead of
QuartWM, which seems like some kind of cruel punishment. I have no
~/.xinitrc, so should be pulling in default settings, right? That was my
impression, but now I'm not sure.

FYI, I shut down the previous version of X11.app before installing the new
one, and at the time it was shut down the last version was using QuartWM
properly. Now it's gone. And I miss it.

More setup info available on request, but in a nutshell:

    % sw_vers
    ProductName: Mac OS X
    ProductVersion: 10.2.3
    BuildVersion: 6G30

% uname -a
Darwin barney 6.3 Darwin Kernel Version 6.3: Sat Dec 14 03:11:25 PST
2002; root:xnu/xnu-344.23.obj~4/RELEASE_PPC Power Macintosh powerpc

Now running X11 0.2 (Xfree86 4.2.1), as released today.

Any ideas?
