I installed Fink, Apple4s X11 and KDE (via Fink). When I rename the
.xinitrc (e.g. to "off.xinitrc") in my home directory all X11 apps
except KDE work fine and they use the window decorations of aqua (so the
quartz-wm seems to be loaded. But when I try to start KDE from xterm
using "/sw/bin/startkde" kdeinit fails to start and says I should
correct my KDE-Installation. When I rename my off.xinitrc-file again to
.xinitrc then KDE and all other X11-apps use another window-manager - I
guess it is KDE4s own one: that is really a problem because minimizing
windows has the result that they disapear from the screen totally.
The content of my .xinitrc file is:
echo "source /sw/bin/init.sh" > ~/.xinitrc
echo "/sw/bin/startkde >/tmp/kde.log 2>&1" >> ~/.xinitrc
How can I tell KDE to work correct with quartz-wm as all the other
X11-apps do?
