.xinitrc Not Executing on Startup

Since upgrading to v0.2 of X11, my ~/.xinitrc no longer executes on startup of X11, OR when opening a new xterm.  I must type "source ~/.xinitrc" in order to have it run.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Anyone have any suggestions on what it may be?
