I just noticed that the middle mouse button now pastes into an xterm
running under X11 even when some non X app like terminal has the focus.
The xterm window raises to the top, but does NOT get focus, which is
definitely confusing, because if you hit return, the "not-on-top" terminal
window gets the return.
You have to put the mouse over some visible portion of the xterm window to
paste into it like this.
I have a 3 button mouse with no extra mouse software, I have not modified
any of the buttons, and emulate 3 button mouse is unchecked in the X11
prefs. I have not activated focus follows mouse, my installation is
pretty much as it comes off the version 2 beta.
Now, is this "intended behaviour" like the rest of the paste
functionality, or is it something not quite right about the focus follows
mouse implementation, or what? I'd think it was a bug as it stands, but
don't want to presume just 'cos I find it confusing...
I would think that if you don't activate "focus follows mouse" then you
should need to click to focus the xterm window before middle button paste
should work. And then it should work wherever you have the mouse, not
only when the mouse is over the xterm window.
