Thanks for the tip! I knew you needed to use the middle mouse button to paste in X, but you reminded me to check my mouse software (MS Intellimouse) - it does not accept middle wheel clicks by default - you have to turn it off for X11. It is functioning well now...

Did you try both cmd-V and <middle click> to paste into X11?

I know that for some reason only one of them worked for me, and the other didn't paste the contents of the correct buffer.

You may have a different issue, and probably tried both already, but I figured it might be what happened to me so I'd say something.

I have used this method to be able to copy from X11 to OSX, but I have not been able to copy from OSX to X11. Is there a different command that is needed for this?

Thanks!

Ar an 20z la de mm 2, scrmobh Trevor Merritt :

am i dumb or am i missing something. i cannot copy and paste from
xchat (possibly others) to a Mac OS X app. like copy a set of commands
from xchat and paste into a terminal, or into an IM session, or even
text edit. tried "Copy" from X11 menu and <CMD>+C. no dice. any
ideas?

If you aren't using quartz-wm as your window manager, add the line

quartz-wm --only-proxy &

to your ~/.xinitrc .
