I have experimented a bit more with this problem - the bug doesnt seem
to be with the apple X11 software
its the current version of the nvidia driver on the linux machines
everything works okay when i try other combinations of (non nvidia)
linux machines and macs

Does it leave a crash log? Look in ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter
