No need to do anything to Fink. I'd suggest moving
/usr/X11R6
/etc/X11
/Applications/X11.app
to something else, though. You might have to rebuild the kde stuff, but I'm
not sure, it might still work fine.
I've got three different X11 installations going (Apple's, fink's
unstable 4.3 and binaries from XFree86.org) and I've had no problems
switching between the three (although most packages were built against
Apple's X11, I haven't tried building against a 4.3 and going
backwards.)
