If you are in an environment that needs the firewall turned on, you
should probably be using ssh, as rsh is extremely insecure.

Are you sure that X11 is listening on 6000-6010? Do a netstat -an |
grep LISTEN to check. Then check which port the remote is trying to
connect to with netstat -an | grep <local host i.p. addr> or tcpdump.
