Root window menus when rootless
Root window menus when rootless

Some time ago (about when Apple's first Beta X11 appeared), I recalled
someone posting some code that allowed access to root window menus when
running in rootless mode. I found the code in the archives, but I
haven't been able to get it to work. It compiles OK, and generates the
little blue square (as the instructions say it would), but I can't get
any root windows to appear, even tho' they come up ok when I switch to
rooted mode.
Has anyone used that code successfully, and if so, what am I missing?
cheers,
