If you're just looking for OpenOffice and not at X11 for other apps,
I suggest you check out a version of OO called NeoOffice/J
(www.neooffice.org -- be sure to check their "Trinity" pages for
current builds and other status info). It offers Java window
environment, not X11. I cannot claim to have thoroughly tested it,
but I'm running it on 10.3 (s/b no problem w/ 10.2.8) and have
knocked out a couple of docs and spreadsheets with no
interoperability problems with M$ Office.

Hello. Can I install X11 on my iBook that has 192
RAM, 29 GB, 500 MHz, 67 bus speed and with Mac OS X
10.2.8? I am wanting to install OpenOffice on my
computer so that I can have a word processing program
that is more compatible with Microsoft Office for
school. I believe that OpenOffice requires X11.
Thanks so much!
