Hi folks,
I've recently started using the Gimp under X-11.
The problem is I need to use the Alt key (alt-mouse-click) to select a layer mask plus still have access to the other mouse buttons (on a single button mouse/trackpad).
There seems to be two problems:
1. On my keyboard xev says the option key is generating code 66, but Gimp ignores it.
I hacked together this .Xmodmap (which I don't fully understand) which fixes that:
clear Mod1
keycode 66 = Alt_L
add Mod1 = Alt_L Alt_R
2. But now I can only use the Option/Alt key when 'Emulate three button mouse' is turned off, so I have to toggle this preference when I want to use the Command key to select a different mouse button.
Is there a way to keep using Option and Command for the mouse buttons and maybe function- or shift-Option for the Alt key?
X11 1.0, PowerBook G4. (Follow system keyboard layout and Enable key equivalents turned off)
Cheers
