What are you trying to do?
Run a remote display (SETDISPLAY) of KDE as running on the SuSE Linux
Boxes
1) have a terminal window from your linux machine displayed on your
powerbook?
I already have that running under SSH
I assume an xterm.
If you can run an xterm you should be able to run almost any x client
from the
linux machine.
2) have a terminal window from your powerbook displayed on your
linux machine?
Haven't needed that yet
3) something else
Ultimately would like to talk to X apps on the Mac, but can't get any
X apps (like KDE) going on the Mac. Tried Fink, etc. but was way
over my head and bombed. My experience was that Fink took almost a
day to finally bomb and I can't afford the time.
KDE is a window manager, you can't have multiple window managers
running.
If you want the KDE window manager to run on the Mac. You need to start
X11.app differently.
pls explain. periodically I need to access the Linux SuSE systems and
can power down the mac and bring it back up in X11 and log into KDE.
Thanks

XLib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1-KEY
giving up
xinit: unable to connect to X server

Hi.
We have two Linux systems running. Can I use the Apple X11
Application from my Mac PowerBook G4 as a remote client for the
X11 Server residing on the SuSE Linux System(s)? If so, then how
difficult is the configuration?
Thanks
Mike
