Where are you seeing that? In X11->About X11 it says:
X11.app version 2.1.0 - X.org X11R7.2
X11R7.2 is a collection of many modules including xorg-server-1.2.
X11R7.3 contains many updates including xorg-server-1.4.
xorg-server-1.3 is a service release/bugfix release for xorg-
server-1.2 that has a new minor version due to ABI changes. Xquartz
is compiled from the 1.3 source code with our patches on top.
The package we released has all versions of components >= their
X11R7.2 versions.
Hopefully that answers your question.
How is it breaking dependencies? All the components are >= their
X11R7.2 versions.

I just noticed that Xquartz is now reporting that it's 'Xquartz
server based on X.org Release 1.3' instead of 'Xquartz server based
on X.org Release 7.2' like the official one does. This is breaking
dependencies in Fink that expect a version that is >= 7.2. Is it
possible to revert to 7.2? If not, Fink can find a work around, but
it seems better to avoid unnecessary breakage.
Thanks
