Either replace /Applications/Utilities/X11.app with the one from Tiger,

hmm. during install of the 10.4 X11 package, it places X11.app in the utilities directory, which I can either run directly or place in the dock
and run - both with the same results.

tbaur@clare/Applications/Utilities/X11.app/Contents: grep -B 1 1.1 Info.plist
<key>CFBundleShortVersionString</key>
<string>1.1</string>

verified it is in fact the correct version.

or move /usr/X11/X11.app to /Applications/Utilities/X11.app. -b

since we're going back to 10.4 X11, the directory structure is /usr/X11R6 and /usr/X11 doesn't exist - not sure what you mean here? :)
