One complaint I have about the current X11 is Xforwarding has YET to
work properly for me. no matter how I try to slice it.
Normally you have to execute xhost + to allow connection. . . when you
do that it launches X11. . . then you try to remote ssh into a
machine. . . it completely locks up the shell, I'm assuming it's
causing Xauth to hang.
Has anyone got a proper procedure to get xforward to work in 2.0 . .
I gotta say this is a MESS. . a complete and utter mess. . . this X11
will NOT behave properly.
I think I may definitely revert back to 1.1.3 if I can do so without
causing problems with the Leopard X11SDK package installed by
XCode. . . has anyone seen issues that have reverted back to 1.1.3?
Thanks,
Bobby

Hey everyone,
I just caught the X11 list of several emails about Leopard and X11.
Can anyone kindly summarize what's going on with X11 and Leopard?
- X11 will no longer work effectively with dual monitors (or an
external monitor plugged to a laptop in combination with the
builtin lcd)
- X11 won't even start in some circumstances (it is started by
the evil / magic / smoke and mirrors launchd daemon, and requires
$DISPLAY
not be setup by your dot files)
- X11 will no longer enter full screen mode.
- There are problems with using arguments to applications in the
X11 Applications menu.
And has anyone gotten from Apple what's up?
Apparently, the X in Leopard was based on a new Xorg code base and
was not ready for prime time.
There are various workarounds which involve installing X from Tiger.
