Hmm. Maybe it's hardware specific (I'm on a PowerBook G4). I see no
MotionNotify, FocusIn or FocusOut events getting through an X window
on top, but for a Carbon Emacs or Terminal on top, they do. I never
see any Obscured or PartiallyObscured events (if I recall their names
correctly), nor do I see Expose events when I remove the window on
top. This is to be expected, since the X server gives backing store
to X windows on this machine.
