I have no problem with this (same versions as you have). But I don't
use fink, so that should be your prime suspect, perhaps.
Hmm, while poking around I noticed something odd:
; otool -L /Applications/Inkscape.app/Contents/Resources/bin/inkscape-bin
/Applications/Inkscape.app/Contents/Resources/bin/inkscape-bin:
/Users/mjwybrow/ws-fat/lib/libgtkmm-2.4.1.dylib (compatibility version 2.0.0, current version 2.30.0)
[...]
Perhaps needless to say, /Users/mjwybrow/ does not exist on my
machine. Looks like the person compiling it had all his X libraries
in his home directory, and those paths got hardcoded in the binary.
Evidently the dynamic linker is smart enough to look for the library
elsewhere even so. On my machine, running lsof while inkscape is
running reveals that inkscape is using a mixture of its own libraries
and the system's. You might check to see if it picks up any fink
libraries on yours.
