I've seen this with/without X11 running. Plus even if X11 was somehow
triggering the issue, it should still not happen (any user app should
not do that to the system). Have you filled out a bugreport for Apple?

Hi,
I'm using the 2.1.4 XQuartz version updated from the usual website.
I still have a problem that seems to be related to X11, though I'm
not completely sure. When I send my MacBookPro to sleep and when X11
is running, at wake-up the screen stays black very often and I have
to force shutdown. This happens only after some time being asleep
generally.
It doesn't seem to be the case when I close X11 before going to sleep.
Does this trigger someone's memory ? Or is it another software
problem ?
Cheers
Damir
