How do I disable the full-screen root window?

Hello everybody!

I have a "first generation" Unibody MacBook Pro (model no. A1286), running Leopard 10.5.7. I remember that my X11 applications used to share the screen with my native Quartz screen. But for some reason that I am unable to track down, my X11 applications have started to use the full-screen root window since about a months ago. Was it due to an upgrade to the latest XQuartz 2.3.3.2? I don't know.

I would like to know how I can configure XQuartz so that it does not use the root window by default.

Kal
