Folks --
(I should confess first: I'm still using XCode 1.2...)
When I use xcodebuild to build our Cocoa app for deployment, xcodebuild
tries to make a symbolic link in the build folder, pointing to the
installed product. This causes problems because the build folder is on
a Samba share, which doesn't support links.
The project includes a command-line tool which gets installed inside
the app wrapper, and xcodebuild creates a link for it the same way.
The output looks like:
SymLink /Users/mike/MyProject/build/fooTool
/Users/mike/MyProject/build/UninstalledProducts/fooTool
cd /Users/mike/MyProject
/bin/ln -sf /Users/mike/MyProject/build/UninstalledProducts/fooTool
/Users/mike/MyProject/build/fooTool
...
SymLink /Users/mike/MyProject/build/Foo.app
/Users/mike/Applications/Foo.app
cd /Users/mike/MyProject
/bin/ln -sf /Users/mike/Applications/Foo.app
/Users/mike/MyProject/build/Foo.app
It does this for both Deployment and Development builds. Why? The lower
half of XCode's build shows nothing like this going on.
Looking at /Developer/Makefiles/pbx_jamfiles/ProjectBuilderJambase, I
see SymLink defined and used, but I can't figure out what's going on.
Any suggestions?
