Disabling warnings
Disabling warnings

I'm in the throws of moving a large application from Codewarrior to
XCode. One of the problems I have is that there are a large number
or warnings that are (for me at the moment) spurious. This large
number of warnings is masking important warnings!
Is there a fine-grained way of turning off warnings? In particular I
want to disable these:
warning: passing 'float' for argument 1 to 'X3DPoint::X3DPoint
(SInt32, SInt32, SInt32)'
warning: converting to 'UInt8' from 'SFloat32'
warning: mismatched case in filenames, wanted "LClipBoard.h" but
found "LClipboard.h"
warning: #pragma once in main file
I'm not worried about the conversion warnings at the moment, and I
really don't care about the mismatched case in filenames. The
"#pragma once in main file" is incorrect - this #pragma once is in my
prefix file, but if another source file includes the prefix file (as
it needs to for Visual Studio), I get this warning.
Finally, has anyone noticed that the hidden virtual function warnings
are a bit buggy (or maybe my understanding is wrong)? The following
code generates warnings, I don't think it should:
class A
{
public:
virtual void F();
virtual void F( int i );
};
class B : public A
{
public:
virtual void F();
};
This will generate these warnings:
warning: 'virtual void A::F(int)' was hidden
warning: by 'virtual void B::F()'
This does not look right to me - B::F() does not hide A::F(int)!
Cheers,
Steve.
