Hi all,
I just added my first unit test bundle in Xcode 2.1. It all worked as
advertised in the help, but when my first attempt to run it failed the
test, I had no way to see what happened. I got a message that said it
failed, and if I double clicked on it I jumped to the line in my test
code where the CPTAssert failed (this is for testing C++ code). At that
point, I wanted to fire up the debugger, set a breakpoint, and step
through my code. But I couldn't, because of the way the testing works. I
was reduced to printf debugging.
I'm hoping that one of the Apple guys will read this and tell me how to
use unit tests with the debugger. Since I wrote my test as soon as I
finished writing the class under test, I really wanted to use the test
code as a way to step through my class code and watch the data while it
executed. Is this not possible? If not, I think you've missed one of the
big use cases.
Thanks,
Rush
