Gah, just read more closely and found the answer...

"Because some code models, such as IOKit drivers and kernel extensions
(kexts) cannot currently be built with native targets, cross-development
for those code models is not directly supported in this release of Xcode."
That sounds like I'm out of luck, right?
Oh well. At least I've got some other 10.3 boxes around to work with.
Is it possible to write a 10.3 kext using socreate and the thread funnels
that will work under 10.4?
