I had the same problem today and didn't find any command line solution. We have two Xserves with no video card and not easily accessible physically. After searching and trying for a while I gave up and installed Apple Remote Destop (ARD). This worked fine.

The other solution I tried was to install OSXvnc. As it is noted on http://www.redstonesoftware.com/osxvnc/OSXvnc.html I tried to install and run it from the command line. But apparently it has some problems with machines without a graphic card too.

Has anybody else found a better solution?
