Ack, at 7/20/05, Shaun Wexler said:

<http://developer.apple.com/transitionkit.html> states "The Kit contains the information, sample code, software, and hardware you'll need to develop a Universal Binary." That should read, "...except for a DVD-D display, which is required but not included." It should list which types displays are supported, or at least the type of connector! I would have ordered something in advance.

Yes, it should. But doesn't. Email DTS and ask them for more information on it, or something (that's what was said on another list).

Nowhere during Apple's ordering process did it mention that the Transition Kit was not to be discussed on public lists, only that you must be a Select or Premier member to order. Apple should provide links to the appropriate documentation, and additional information regarding the kit. Where is it? I've seen bits and pieces of info on the web, but can't locate anything official, not even within the ADC area.

http://developer.apple.com/membership/pdf/DevTransKitTerms.pdf

There are the terms for the developer transition kit. Section 8. Heh. I said Section 8.

The Universal Binary Programming Guidelines.pdf is publicly available, so anything declared in that document can be discussed, correct?

That's usually how things go with Apple's NDA information. If it is publicly available, it is no longer a trade secret. However, you'd be hard pressed to get any additional information explaining what some parts of the Universal Binary Guidelines mean. Unless they are available in the GCC documentation and on Intel's website.

Again, I'm just repeating with great paraphrasing what I've heard from or been told by others. Not that most of this is on topic for this list or anything.

What I'm really wondering about is how to file bugs on the Transition Kit "items" (there seems no specific component on it in RadarWeb available to lame hosers like me).
