I think this is a classic example of where more isn't better.
I disagree (but then, if I didn't, I wouldn't have posted, would I?)
I never used all of those colors in CW. In fact I usually end up
simplifying the coloring in CW, Xcode, and Script Editor by setting
most of the colors to the same thing.
I didn't. I _like_ having globals, macros, functions, strings,
comments, etc different colors.
I find it quite useful to be typing a function name and have it
change color as a subtle reminder
that I've spelled it right. (Code completion, while handy, is not the
same - takes me "out of the flow")
Basically, the only coloration that really helps me are
Comments
Strings (I like to know where they start and end)
When editing XML, HTML, etc. I like to see the difference between
content and tags.
Beyond that, attempts to turn my code in a psychedelic light show is
just distracting.

It's good that CodeWarrior gave you the option to set all the colors
the same, then.
I suppose having _one_ user-defined list of keywords might help
someone, but I've never met that person. Wait, isn't it possible to
define your own syntax coloring scheme? Or am I thinking of BBEdit
or maybe MPW?
BBEdit and MPW both let you do that (as well as CW).
