Xcode not finding sub-projects

  • Subject: Xcode not finding sub-projects

I have a main project, which has 2 sub projects (with targets of those projects as dependencies of the main project's target). However when I double click on the subproject in the main project's list of files it tells me that it cannot find the file at path foo (even though the path is correct and the file is there). Removing the subproject again and adding it back has not changed anything, not has reselecting the correct location of the project file from it's info window. This happens with both subprojects.
Even more puzzling is that if the main project is open, sometimes trying to open the subproject by opening it from the finder produces the same error.
I don't think I'm trying to do something that is just wrong as I have an identical setup in another project which works just fine.
Any ideas?

Fred
