If I can get the script working, I have my own work-around. I may also try disabling SSHKeychain -- it could be that Xcode is now trying to use ssh-agent, and that this is conflicting with SSHKeychain.

...and there we have the problem. Xcode 2.1 now starts ssh- agent for you, and then tries to use it for SSH authentication. I guess that means that I'm going to need to configure ssh-agent, and use it for Xcode instead of SSHKeychain.

I think I solved my own problem. I may still file a bug report -- I'd prefer it if Xcode allowed me to manage this myself, and not force ssh-agent onto me (SSHKeychain is nice because it lives in the menu and makes it easy to add/remove keys, authorize keys, and set-up SSH tunnels). Thanks for the input!

Congrats on finding a workaround, and posting for everyone else. There was another person having problems with SVN and Xcode, and I think they might have been using SSHKeychain as well, not sure though.

I'd still file a bug. The worst they can do is close it as "Behaves Correctly" and (hopefully) update the documentation/release notes to point out the issue. I searched the 2.1 documentation and didn't see any references to ssh, even Spotlight didn't turn up anything for ssh in the Xcode docs.

I can offer one workaround for ssh tunnel management called, appropriately enough, SSH Tunnel Manager. I've been using it for quite some time to maintain tunnels to the IMAP and SMTP services on my home Mac and it works great. I have it as one of my login items and my tunnels are always there for me (well, after writing a little prog to 'ping' my SMTP server every couple minutes to keep the tunnel open).
